MO State Director

State Directors – USTL is seeking state directors in several key states, including Missouri, Tennessee, Utah, and Alabama.  The state director is a full time paid employee of US Term Limits that will be responsible for USTL’s activities in their state.

The position will report to a regional director and will manage a team of volunteers. The State Director will involved three major activities: legislative relations, grassroots activism, and public relations.

The state director will be in charge of developing relations with the state legislature and may be required (depending on state law) to register as a lobbyist. They should have standing relations with the majority and minority leadership in their states, and always keep a general “pro” and “anti” term limits whip list available and up to date.

Beyond this first task, the state director will also be in charge of building out a grassroots organization in their state. This will mean recruiting, training, and mobilizing grassroots leaders in different regions with different tasks. The national office will provide resources.

The State Director will also monitor the status of any Article V legislation, and any term limits legislation or initiatives in their state. They will contact citizens who show an interest in term limits at the local, state, and federal levels of government, and network with other Article V groups and activists in the state.


A once a year state conference or meeting will be an expected part of the position as well.

The applicant should have experience in either legislative affairs or grassroots organizing and have a passion for the term limits issue.
